Integrated Therapeutic Residential Treatment for Boys At Stetson School

The Stetson School residential treatment program is a place for treatment rather than simply a placement for youth. Our behavioral health services take place within the context of a residential treatment milieu (planned treatment environment), where family members are a vital part of their child’s treatment, recovery and successful return to the community. Stetson School partners with families to provide the key components of our residential milieu.

All youth are assigned a clinician, case manager, and a residential advocate. At admission, an Individual Crisis Management Plan (ICMP) is developed, and periodically re-evaluated to provide a basis for the management of behavioral issues that may arise during treatment. The residential care environment provides around-the-clock structure and supervision while members of the interdisciplinary treatment team provide an environment that supports behavioral and emotional safety.

Health & Wellness

We are affiliated with the Barre Family Health Center, which provides emergency medical and healthcare consultation and services to Stetson School on a 24-hour, on-call basis. On-campus nursing care is provided seven days per week from 6:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., as well as after-hours nursing and physician support via our nursing on-call system. The nursing care team meets with all youth within eight hours of admission. A comprehensive nursing assessment is completed and areas of concern are identified and documented. Dental and eye examinations are provided every six months. On-site medical supports include psychiatry and medication management, diabetes services, and asthma management.

Psychiatry

Our Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist oversees all psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacology. Stetson School has access to psychiatric emergency services on a 24-hour basis.

Stetson School accepts referrals on a rolling basis throughout the year as well as emergency, overnight, and weekend admissions. To begin the process, contact Kathy O’Connor, Admissions Coordinator, who will contact you within 24 hours of receiving the referral. Pre-placement interviews will be conducted at the location of your choice. All inquiries are confidential.
